Getting Around
Parking Structures
There are 2,500 free parking spaces in the Vail Village and LionsHead parking structures Parking is free all summer on a first-come, first-served basis The parking structures typically fill on holidays such as July 4th by 9 a.m. When the parking structures fill, parking is allowed on the South Frontage Road until 11 p.m.
Additional free parking is available on the weekends at the Red Sandstone Elementary School parking lot, Vail Mountain School parking lot, the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District parking lot and the parking lots servicing Stephens Park and Red Sandstone Park.
All outlying parking spaces are free and within close proximity to existing bus stops
Parking Options for Ford Park
If you're going to an event at Ford Park, you'll have the option of paying a $5 fee for close-in parking during peak days in the summer Close-in parking begins mid-June at the first Hot Summer Nights event of the season Close-in parking is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and is available for events such as the Hot Summer Nights concert series, Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, Vail International Dance Festival and Vail Lacrosse Tournament Close-in parking fees are collected from 4 to 8 p.m. on most peak days There are several other options for access to Ford Park The Vail Village parking structure offers free parking with 10-minute bus service to the park during special events For those who prefer to walk from the structure to the park, pedestrian paths are in place providing 10-minute access to the park Also, Ford Park drop-off lanes will be accessible from the South Frontage Road for private vehicles on peak days There will be a maximum 10-minute unloading time with attendants available to assist users
